1. Introduction

Welcome to Albrentacar, your reliable and convenient car rental service at Tirana International Airport Nënë Tereza (TIA).

By renting a vehicle from Albrentacar, you agree to comply with the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before confirming your reservation.

⚠️ Seasonal Notice:
During the summer season (June – September), prices for rental vehicles, insurance options, and extras may be higher due to increased demand. Final prices are always shown during the booking process.

2. Rental Agreement

To complete the rental agreement, customers must present:

• A valid ID card or passport
• A valid driver’s license

These documents must be presented at the time of vehicle pick-up.

The driver must also meet the minimum rental requirements specified in these terms.

3. Reservation Policy

• After completing a reservation through our website, the customer must wait up to 12 hours to receive confirmation from our company.

Cancellation Policy:

• August: Reservations can be canceled free of charge up to 7 days before the pick-up date.
• All other months: Reservations can be canceled free of charge up to 5 days before the pick-up date.
• If the reservation is canceled within 24 hours before the pick-up time, 80% of the total rental amount will be charged.

• Reservations are confirmed only after approval from Albrentacar.

4. Payment and Fees

• The total rental price is calculated according to the rental period specified in the agreement.

Important:

• The rental fee is non-refundable, even if the vehicle is returned earlier than planned.
• No credit card or deposit is required to rent a vehicle.
• Full payment must be made at the time of vehicle pick-up.

5. Optional Extras

To make your trip more comfortable, Albrentacar offers optional extras that can be selected during booking.

Additional Driver

If you want to share the driving, you can add additional drivers to the rental agreement.

Each additional driver must present a valid driver’s license and identification document.

For families traveling with children, we provide child safety seats.

6. Insurance Options

We offer three levels of insurance coverage for your safety and peace of mind.

⚠️ Important in case of an accident:

• The vehicle must not be moved under any circumstances after an accident occurs, as insurance companies may refuse to evaluate the damage if the vehicle has been moved.
  • The police and the insurance company must be notified immediately.

a) Basic Insurance (FREE Included)

Basic insurance covers:

• Third-party liability
  • Third-party property damage

This insurance is included in the rental price according to regulations in Albania.

⚠️ If the rental vehicle itself is damaged, the renter is responsible for repair costs.

b) Super Protective Insurance – 100% Coverage (+€25/day)

This option provides maximum protection and is the most popular choice among customers.

Coverage includes:

• External damages
  • Fire damage
  • Theft protection
  • Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
  • Third-party liability
  • Glass and mirror protection
  • Roadside assistance

Insurance conditions:

✔ Valid only on paved public roads
❌ Not covered: off-road driving
❌ Not covered: tire damages

7. Return of Vehicle

The vehicle must be returned at the date, time, and location specified in the rental agreement.

Late returns may incur additional charges equivalent to the next rental day.

The driver must return the vehicle clean and washed.

If the car is returned dirty, a €10 cleaning fee will apply.

8. Crossing Borders

Albrentacar allows border crossing only to the following countries:

• Kosovo

Conditions:

• Border crossing requires prior approval from the rental company.
  • Border crossing fee: €50 per border.
  • Green Card insurance is not included.

Crossing into other countries is not permitted.

9. Rental Conditions

• If you want to extend the rental period, you must inform the rental agent in advance.
  • The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as when it was picked up.

Fuel policy:

• If the fuel level is lower, the customer must pay the difference.
  • If the fuel level is higher, no refund will be provided.

Vehicle condition:

• If the car is too dirty to inspect for scratches or damages, the customer must pay a €10 cleaning fee.

Driving restrictions:

• Rental vehicles are allowed to travel only on paved public roads.
  • Off-road driving is strictly prohibited and results in a €300 penalty.

Travel outside Albania:

• If you plan to travel outside Albania, you must notify the rental agent in advance.

Communication:

• The phone number provided during booking must remain available during the rental period.

Responsibility:

• Customers are responsible for traffic fines, parking tickets, and penalties.

Driver requirements:

Drivers must:

• Have at least 2 years of driving experience
  • Be between 21 and 65 years old

If these conditions are not met, the rental agent may refuse the rental or apply an additional fee.

Additional rules:

• Smoking inside the vehicle is strictly prohibited.
  • Any interior damage to the vehicle must be paid by the renter.
  • Only small pets are allowed and must be transported inside proper travel carriers.

10. Amendments to Terms and Conditions

Albrentacar reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time.

Any changes will become effective immediately once published on our website.

11. Governing Law

This agreement shall be governed by and interpreted according to the laws of Albania.
